Is nature a risk factor to be overcome
or an object of coexistence?

Exploring the dialogue between organic and mechanic for Seoul Biennale of Architecture and Urbanism (SBAU).
Inspired by Seoul’s public metro map and forms of joints, a geometric S form was created.
By using arrows as a main graphic element, layer of organic and geometric elements communicate the Seoul city as a layered entity.

What would typography look like if they were controlled by real time weather data?

experiential nodes : collected senses is an outdoor architectural exhibition meant to be experienced under changing weather circumstances. Using Processing, I coded a software that manipulates the visual output of typography using temperature, precipitation and wind speed as parameters.
I developed a software that manipulates the look of the letterforms using real time weather data.

I imagined the letters would expand and melt into each other if the temperature increased.
Visualized raindrops becoming larger and faster as precipitation increased.
Wind Speed/Direction
Final output with all layers combined provides unique visual experience for users based on their local weather conditions.
Biennale Attendees can access the software by going on to the exhibition website. User Mode allows users to type in custom messages and play around with the parameters.
